Lower Brook Street - job done!

The deadline has past for the county to remove the asphalt and replace the cobbles. Now someone else has done the job.

Looks a lot better in my opinion.

Pity about the mismatch in the colour of the mortar but in time who will notice - which is the main point for removing this County Council eyesore.

Should more be done by locals to preserve what they think is important?

Even though the authorities claim that it is illegal?

Get those legs working!

Go be nosy yourself?

A real treat in store!

One of the seven wonders of Ulverston!

You wouldn't be satisfied with a photo of the Statue of Liberty if you could go and see the real thing?

Regarding the newspaper article. I deny that I denied it.

I don't recall ever being asked . . .

As far as I am concerned more thought should have been given to the surface of the pathways in the first place. I have tripped over three times and so has my husband, and we are not the only ones. Having things look quaint is one thing, providing obstacles to trip the blind, partially sighted and elderly is something else. It could have been done much smoother, and without little 'boulders' where people are bound to walk. These trip up the wary as well as the unwary!
