What lessons can we learn for Ulverston?
Do all we can to foster the building of communities that talk to each other?
Communities that respect the law and the police ?
Thanks to our size we have everything going for us but don't we have the potential for similar problems to the cities. Can't we learn from them?
Tackling even the sign of a problem before it grows.

Waste of time it happening here there is nothing worth looting, least if we get a couple of supermarkets then there would be some good stuff worth getting
Tottenham will not happen up here because, and I am not being racist, we do not have the ethnic population .
This is wher the majority of inner city trouble stems from and the only way to stop it would be to have a selective immigration policy.
OK it is a hard method but this is the ONLY way to stop this type of trouble and solve our unemployment problem at the same time.
Old UK should not be a soft touch any longer.

I suspect the unrest is to do with unemployment and the feeling amongst many young people that they are not part of "The Big Society" where Bankers make millions.
Even if they have worked hard so far at school there is very little to look forward to in the future.
Frustration at being trapped in a situation that they can't do anything about and bored of having little worthwhile to do must be a factor.
I've see a fair number of whites in the pictures I've seen.
Isn't this a situation affecting all young people.
Isn't it a natural reaction to hit out mindlessly at other people?
I see plenty of this here on this blog . . . . both among the comments that I publish
and the ones I don't . . .
I was in London today, was planning to be there till 5-6pm but at 1:30pm the police were strongly advising all workers to leave the area so all businesses could batten down the hatches in-case of problems

He will have to pay .WITH WHAT ?
This is the tip of the iceberg.
This government want the old to work till they drop dead ,further denying job opportunity to youth.
