Pot Holes - Now's the time to use this site

It's brilliant and has been recommended more than once on this blog.

Fix My Street

If you have street damage due to the snow and frost get cracking and report it using this site.

Others have found it is effective in getting as rapid response as any other known method.

Be prepared to give your name and details though these won't be published.

It's best to be armed with a photo to support your report and if you can give a reason as to why it should be fixed early so much the better.

I've just done the ones in Stanley St - I'll let you know how I get on.

That's useful Geoff.

I'll get my photos sent in pronto.

Yes it was your comment that I was referring to in the above posting - unfortunately I could find out where.

Perhaps you know where it is so that I can give you credit!

I've photos of your holes last year - I'll get some more recent ones when I'm passing - on Tuesday - if I can remember.

What road the victoria dirt track. not even 3rd world standard urgent action required.
I know it would be inconvienient but it should close in the intrests of the public.
Perhaps it could be a new tourist attraction and used as a site for
"NO FEAR" mountain biking events!

Radio Cumbria spoke to the county council rep for Highways re potholes and he stated that they were so proud of coming 3rd in the country for responce and action on the CTC site
I used the normal reporting procedure and got nowhere then chanced on the CTC site and "Cha Ching" sorted pronto.
Now I know why "Brownie points"
Use the site its easy and make them earn them http://www.fillthathole.org.uk/

I don't know about the rest of you but I find some of JAK's comments difficult to understand.

What has "Cha Ching" got to do with it?

What does the sentence:"Now I know why "Brownie points"", mean?

Should this be:

Now I know why : "Brownie points"

Who are the CTC ?

So I've written a new posting

CTC = cycle touring club.
Cha ching = A instant result.

CTC isn't easy to find out. Even they bury the origin of their name - As I remember it they are the upper crust cycle club. You went to Youth Hostels if you were a pleb but a CTC B&B if you were what I call 'upper crust' - beyond my pocket at the time!

anyone had any joy with this,i reported a few the other day no sign of a fix yet

Look at the flags on the ctc map there is a cluster around Sandside lets help the council, identify it, they fix it.
There is a standard for instant action I have discussed this live on radio Cumbria with Andrew Moss Head of Cumbria Highways.
We have our own local highway steward who takes a pride in their local area and has a target to fix any pothole deeper than 100mm (4 inch)WITHIN 24 hours
HOW GOOD IS THAT !

some pot holes patched up on the bottom of oakwood drive, they've not cleaned up and missed some holes.I noticed this morning that victoria road is still the same

Anonymous said...

victoria road is now classed as a temporary road surface, signs have been placed at both ends.So why not try and patch the holes up for the time been??

At least the Tyre place will get passing trade once the pot holes rip the arse out of tyres
