Another Facebook Page

For those that would like me to get involved with local politics  show your interest here

Next elections in a year's time.

Be warned I'm enjoying:

Making Flags - designing, putting up etc

Making Pots with other potters

Learning to play the piano well

Nicking other people's kids and taking them for a romp

Growing stuff at The Railings, Mill Dam Park and my allotment

Studying and debating philosophy

Playing chess at the Stan Laurel

Reading Kate Adie's book for a book group

Watching Question time

And generally stirring things on this blog

Oh yes sleeping, eating and doing 'things' with other people!

Forget politics stay on the fringe
you are far to valuable a man to waste on petty silly niggles and dross.
Under the AV system, voters rank candidates in order of height before ranking them again in order of stench.
The candidate with the most points goes through to round three where he must beat a pair of local schoolchildren in a Blockbusters-style quiz.
If he fails then the second-placed candidate takes on the children and if successful then goes on to wrestle a kangaroo.
The fifth round involves defusing a live feminist before the clock reaches zero and in the sixth and final round they have to sing a song in front of an audience of easily unimpressed Glaswegians.
Whoever makes it through all six rounds then gets to treat you like a child while stealing your money.
Yes dont waste your life enjoy it.

I would like to see you with a seat on the "Ulverston Curry Club" now that would get my vote.

Beautifully written.

I need to learn the art of humour.

I get far to 'fierce' as my hackles rise.

This often frightens people off.

I do recognise there are lots of opportunities of working outside 'the system'and dealing directly with real people is far more fun.

At the moment it's on with the flags! These are such emotive objects.

The article in the Westmorland Gazette today (page 20) expresses my feelings well:

"involving people of all kinds. . . . when all our lives need a little zest"

"Ulverston Zest" - let's all do a somersault - well perhaps a little skip!

There are some great people in the Town - and the sun's shining - and it's market day. Let's all go out and smile and have a coffee with friends - - - and maybe hatch a few wicked plots.

Time perhaps to go and paint the town red . . .

.
