Another new business in the town

The Westmorland Gazette announces

"A THRIVING South Lakeland microbrewery is set to move to Ulverston after being granted planning permission and an EU grant worth around £40,000 for the relocation.

Owners of Ulverston Brewing Company now intend to move the business from its current home at Lindal Moor, Pennington, to the Auction Mart Building in Lightburn Road, in March."

This will be into the old Auction Mart and next to the excellent new DIY store - parking for both will I imagine be at the rear.

Great to have this building being used so creatively.

Now how about the tea hut over the road at the bus station having a major revamp and serving their beer in what was the Rose Garden?

The - tea hut - by which I take it you mean the kiosk had it's origins as the Palladium kiosk and somehow survived when the cinema was demolished. The current operator has submitted plans to revamp the kiosk and I hope the council will co-operate by creating something resembling a bus station. The whole area is desolate and dark at night ,I pity anyone who has to wait there for a bus.

Great.

We're agreed!

For some time now I've been encouraging the people running this excellent service.

We have the potential of using this space in the town to greater advantage to all.

With the library adjacent, the bus stop here and the garden it could become a great place to spend a little time.

My suggestion is to incorporate somewhere for the kids to perform their tricks either with skateboards or bicycles.

I believe in bringing people of all ages together so that they get to appreciate what each can contribute.

Lighburn Park has the same potential which is why it would be good to see adults using the space more.

The Croftlands Playing Field is another area that could be developed. Now that we've got a MUGA we cater for young children and teenagers. Why not add somewhere for adults to congregate, watch and participate.

I've been campaigning to have a skateboarding facility here as well. Why should young children have to travel all the way to Lightburn if they are at the beginner stage.

I digress!
