I agree Geoff. Flim flam. Great manufacturing nation? Where does the guy live? 'The area I love ...' no doubt the same would have been said wherever he was shoehorned into. 'Emulate John Hutton..' Does bthat include never replying to emails?
Beautiful market towns ? Ulverston maybe ,Dalton and Askam ??? LOL as the kids say.
It upsets me to hear so many words being used that actually have very little meaning or impact.
Some of these people don't seem to have realised that there's a country to run.
Instead we get all this empty posturing.
I'm going to start following Tim Farron and find out whether he's any better!

Woodcock is after all a wonderful example of concise expression where every word has had hours of thought have been given to its choice and nothing is included that is not sincere,accurate and incisive.
