Scaliwags help me repair the bench in Mill Dam

Most of them are visiting from Liverpoooool . You'll have to imagine the accent!

They did a good job of banging, endless tightening of the nuts and trimming the slats to length - in spite of the rain.

I thought they should be the first to test the additional support to their bums.

Total cost around £4 - not worth waiting for the Council to take another two months to repair it! Less effort than bugging them and the do-nothing councillors - or am I being unfair?

I was delighted to see one of the scallies wearing an Everton hat !!!
A proper scouser !! Seriously ,if we are talking about seats ,I got nowhere trying to get a seat next to the taxi rank in Cross St and all the squirrel seats removed from County Sq a year ago have ..............vanished .Too many people involved and nobody will make a decision. Direct action ,as exemplified by you ,appears to be the way forward.

It's a matter of changing our mind set.

Many feel " Why should I do it? I pay them to do it!"

Ask myself:

"Is it worth all the hassle of asking, persuading, waiting. dealing with anonymous people who seem to avoid giving a straight answer when the solution with a lot more satisfaction is :

Do it yourself.

And when the time comes vote the party politicians out of office and vote for real people with a track record of getting things done.

People with the social skills, from business experience to motivate the workers to want to help and do their jobs well.

The example of Colin Hodgson and the wall is a case in point.

A lot of frustrating energy was put into trying to get a councillor to get the job done when if you know it's up to you to get the work done, you can yourself put some effort in, get to the right person and then, they're only too happy to help.

A.R. ,
I've just written to Jayne Kendall who last reported that they'd been taken away for repainting.

She is one that usually writes back immediately. One of our precious people of action!

Sometimes I don't like her actions but she knocks most of the councillors into a cocked hat regarding initiative.
