Time to get those brushes out !

Here's another chance to work with our neighbours to make life easier for us all.

Sweeping, the snow off the pavements and streets before it's trodden on, really helps.  .  .

you and your neighbour.

It only takes ten minutes - to do a block.

It gets you warm - with the excercise.

It makes you feel good.

It builds good relationships.

Why do people hesitate?

If you haven't got a pavement

- go adopt one!

It will benefit you in the long run.

Geoff, do you really think people need to be told what needs doing when snow falls? Don't you think they might be a touch annoyed? Actually, depending on the depth of the snow and conditions generally, sometimes it is better to let it alone unless salted/gritted too.

Gladys - don't you love Geoff any more ? Seriously though ,when I think back to my childhood ,most people lived in terraced houses and EVERYBODY used to shovel the snow off their frontage and put ashes from the coal fire down. It's called public spirit and it's largely died out.

She loves me . . . . .

She loves me not . . . . .

?

Two things -

It's infectious - try it - the sweeping, down both 'streets' where I've done it has spread along the block so that in one case it travels three-quarters of the length of the block.

Secondly. If you want to try the experiment - now's your chance - the snow we've got is cold and powdery and readily brush-up-able - so if you fancy some warm exercise and a chance to show local team work - now's still your chance to try.

On the basis of the participants of this blog, I reckon that a cul-de-sac on Oakwood Drive will have its pavements clear - Phyllis will be pleased!

Out there just now.

Did the full lane in five minutes - all of 45cm wide - the width of by brush - all the way to my friend Simon's house.

Didn't manage to kid him into helping me later on - some have to go out to work in the morning.

See who's out there first in the morning!

See if we can keep it clear before without anyone can treads on the snow.

It's a game and I love games!
