Why so quiet!

I have a lot on at the moment:

In addition to my normal activities:

Tidying up all aspects of the Candlelit walk event held last Sunday night involving repairs, sorting and putting supplies away.

Dealing with the planning application for housing at the end of Union Lane which involves many complex issues.

Dealing with the secrecy surrounding the bids for the Tourist Information Centre and ensuring  that a proposal that uses the volunteers and professionals as is done at Grange is at least considered.

Raising the issues of the car parks in the town - especially that at the under used Stockbridge Lane and persuading Norman Bishop-Rowe to reveal the details of the figures for receipts on this car park. The broad issue is being covered at both the Ulverston Town Council and at the SLDC cabinet meeting on Wednesday in Kendal - both of which I plan to attend.

Then I have photos to display on the state of our car parking in the town.

Work planting a further 700 bulbs in the Mill Dam Park.

Regarding Mill Dam park, i can remember when i was a lad they had wood chips down instead of the grass and they had a slide and poles to climb up. I have some pictures i will have to post of the park when it first opened. Have the council took the slide?

Good to hear from you Tom,

If you remember a group of us got together and insisted that the council at the time sorted out a pile of rubble left over from building the sheltered housing adjacent.

They had come up with a crap design for the playground which we campaigned against in the library, by building a model. We recommended the local stuff from Haverthwaite - Playdale which is what you're remembering. I was in London when the slide went and we're having difficulty getting repairs done.

I was told by the SLDC official in charge that "councillors were uphappy with him working with 'that Geoff Dellow'".

Now Colin Hodgson has asked for the repairs to be done - still waiting - since last February for repairs to a bench - which I've done once but needs doing again and some latches on the gates which are dangerous because they open out straight onto the road.

We were promised these repairs and a picnic table six months ago. (The one that's there is one I paid for).

Just waiting till I get elected to get better service!

Yes,

The stream (a head race for the Town Mill) is running well.
