The Breast Feeding Festival has it's own site and starts in Ford Park
at 10 am with a "Workshop on the Breastfeeding Manifesto, in the Coach House "
Followed by " a huge people-picture of a mother feeding her baby. Inspired by Art for the Sky" in the afternoon.
On Saturday 21st August, 1:30pm-4:30pm, there's a Breastfeeding Fair in the Supper Room in the Coronation Hall.
And many many more activities at different times and places throughout the week.

The capacity amongst some people in this town for making absolute berks of themselves - and by implication the whole town - is truly breathtaking.
We've all endured the (largely) useless and pretentious "festivals" foisted upon us by the oh so precious "festival community" but this one takes the biscuit.
I simply couldn't believe it when I read about it, I thought it was a wind-up! But no, there is apparently a Breast feeding Coalition "workshop" (God help us) and visitors will be invited to knit a breast!!!? You couldn't make this stuff up.
Its certainly raised awareness of breast feeding though. Its quite a hot topic amongst the ne'er do wells in our pubs where reactions range from incredulity to disdain through to hilarity.
I will refrain from making the obvious jokes. There is no need since this "festival" is beyond parody and places an already pretentious town in the same sad position.
I agree with H.B. that we seem to be concocting festivals at the drop of the hat.
However it's great to hear of people with enthusiasms for something.
I'm patiently awaiting the "Study hard for your exams" festival with "study in" days when teenagers become industrious or even disappear from sight for a few days.
.
Cheers GD. I question wasting money on festivals when we have a "Festival of Fools" for free - every week in the Council Chamber!!
As someone that I believe Peter Winston wants to enroll to be part of the Festival Image when we celebrate Halloween in candlelight, my immediate reaction is to run and hide!
Despite the success of last year's walk in the spooky dark of Gill Banks, we hope this will remain a very private affair.
We hope it will remain very much a time when locals have fun together and enjoy each others company. If a few friends from away - like Dalton and even Barrow - want to sneak in, in disguise, they too will be welcome.
We hope to keep this as an Un-festival for tourist shy locals.
Being a tad anti-tourist Geoff, Kendal is organising a walk directed at locals but open to all as part of MintFest
Nothing wrong with a few of-comers tagging along, makes the town more well known
Festival is a generic word referring to an event or series of similar events
It's a gut feeling.
We will have been sharing our creativity with the world during the Lantern Festival. This, we agree is a great event.
So later on in October it feels good to do something just for ourselves - with friends invited.
The people in and near to the Gill put themselves out to make locals feel at home. They create the new pottery lights, lay out all the wax burning lights they've made, in donated jam jars, along the route and prepare food for the after-the-spooky-walk heroes get together.
(and then tidy up afterwards)
This is a get together for all those that have contributed to the work on Gill Banks and the parks and those saving and bring jam jars to our doors.
Thanks especially to Wax Lyrical for offering 1,000 candles and providing the 500 candles (which we plan to saw in half) and 1,000 wicks to our specification together with loose wax to fill in around the lights in the jars.
