Disgusting journalism on events in Paris

Don't believe a word of it.

A totally misrepresented impression is being given and I have the videos to prove that where I was yesterday it was a great party atmosphere.

No violence.

No police requred.

If you're lucky enough to be coming here to Paris, then come.- by Eurostar- transport in Paris by bus and metro no problem .

Publshed with great difficulty from the hotel computer!

Hang on- I thought that on Friday October the 8th you said this: 'Avoid taking holidays abroad - in effect this is buying products and services from other countries' in a typically confused entry on our economic recovery. So it is the rest of us who have to take our holidays in this country whilst you ignore your own dictats. Hypocritical or what?

Who said what?
Avoid taking holidays abroad - in effect this is buying products and services from other countries
So take your holidays in Britain where possible
Encourage foreigners to holiday here - we've a lot to offer
We really need to change our way of thinking.
Is Paris Local ?

Well you can't cover the whole of France, Geoff.
Hope you continue to have a lovely time and get back safely.

Some of you guys see life so much in black and white.

Furthermore you don't miss a trick of pulling me apart!

I said "avoid" this does not mean never do it.

I have many reasons for continuing to visit Paris - it's where I was bought up. I learn a lot from keeping in touch with a different culture which benefits the way I see and act in Britain.

Don't let's become insular in the way we live.

In all things there's a balance to be found.

More on this later!

Have you tried getting a link-up with the Lake District web site?
There is a place for local towns and Ulverston is not there.

I try to do my little bit to encourage visitors to the area, to the Lake District and also to Derbyshire, which I am also fond of. How? Through my blog 'Writing For Joy' where there are many photographs, some of which take in walks.
And now through my new blog, which does not just promote my new novel but also invites visitors to the Lake District and Cumbria generally. This is done through a series of photographs with text. If you are interested take a look.
